Overseas Player

WCC are pleased to announce the signing of South African Victor Mpitsang as their overseas player for the 2010 season.

 

 

Victor is a fast bowler who has played two One Day Internationals for his country, South Africa. He currently plays for the Eagles in the South Africa domestic league.

 

We look forward to welcoming him to the Lawn and wish him a successful season with the Villagers.

 


 

New Kit

Donaghy’s / Shoefair Sports, Banbridge will be having a viewing evening at the Lawn on Wednesday 31st March at 7pm.

All WCC Kukri kit will be available to try on for size and to purchase.

Youth Coaching

Youth Cricket Coaching

For the 2010 season Waringstown will again be running its coaching scheme for children aged between 6 and 13 years. Using the club professional & players from the senior teams the club will provide coaching sessions for 12 Monday nights between 10/05/10 & 16/08/10. Sessions will run from 18.45 to 20.15.

Each age group will be allocated two coaches for each session.

Please note these sessions are all on Monday evenings starting at 18.45.

The cost will be £25 per child. If there is more than one child from one family attending, the addition cost per child will be £10.

Along with Kukri, the club has been developing a range of clothing available to all members. The full range can be viewed on the club web site. For those attending on Tuesday nights, a T shirt with embroidered logo will be available to purchase for £10.

Registration will take place in the Pavilion on Monday 26/04/2010 at 18.45 or in advance by making a cheque payable to Waringstown Cricket Club & sending it to any of the following addresses:

If there is adverse weather conditions please check that the session will run before leaving off your children.

There may also be occasions that a session has be cancelled if a senior game has to be rescheduled.

Fund Raiser

Message from Graham Higgins, Instonians 3rd XI Captain

Praxis Care, the UK's premier charity in providing residential care for kids and adults with learning disabilities and mental ill health. We're running a campaign to encourage sports clubs to enter teams into the Belfast City Marathon on 3rd May 2010.  Praxis Care will front the fund-raising effort and share the funds raised 50/50 with the Organization that does the leg-work. There’s a Prize of a weekend in Paris for two up for grabs!

Kyle wins Award

Congratulations to Kyle McCallan who won a special award for recognition to International Sport at the Belfast Telegraph’s Sports Awards.  Kyle was mixing with Rory McIIroy, Stephen Ferris and other top sport star in NI.

Cup Draws

WARINGSTOWN have been handed a home draw in next season's NCU Challenge Cup.

The villagers will entertain Dundrum from Section One in the second round at The Lawn on Saturday, May 22.

There are two all Premier League ties. Newly-promoted Lurgan will host holders Instonians and North Down face a testing trip to Ballymena.

Draw: First round: Bangor v Saintfield, Woodvale v Cliftonville, Derriaghy v Muckamore, Laurelvale v Holywood. Games to be played on May 8.

Second round: Woodvale or Cliftonville v Laurelvale or Holywood. Carrickfergus v Armagh, Bangor or Saintfield v Civil Service North, Waringstown v Dundrum, Derriaghy or Muckamore v CIYMS, Lurgan v Instonians, Lisburn v Downpatrick, Ballymena v North Down.  Games to be played on Saturday, May 22.

Waringstown will face a trip to either Downpatrick or Old Belvedere in the Bob Kerr Irish Cup.
